Making a house a home
1. Patching & painting
First things first, let's breathe new life with a fresh coat of paint! And while we're at it, let's plug those scuff marks and picture holes you've been putting off. Picking up some filler and sandpaper from your local hardware store will help you fix those holes quick smart. As far as the paint-job goes, do you want to repaint the whole place or can you tackle it room-by-room? Get your bedroom sorted first so that you can take your time with the other rooms and still get a peaceful sleep.
2. Unpacking
So you've got the place ready and now you're surrounded by boxes in every room. You ask yourself "Which one do you open first and how long is this going to take?". It can be a little daunting, but with an extra pair of hands helping out, it won't take long at all to unpack.
3. (Re)assembling furniture
The beds, dining table, storage boxes and not to mention all the new stuff you're about to splurge on needs to be put together. Try to save them all up so that you can knock them out in one dedicated 'Assembly Day.'
4. Rubbish removal
All those boxes, bubble wrap and packaging need to be removed. Try to see if you have any friends moving home who can reuse the boxes. If you have some spare storage space, save a few of the good ones for your own next move.
